Your Heritage Centre
Needs You
Do you have a couple of hours to spare? Do you have an
interest in history and enjoy meeting new people?
The Eastbourne Heritage Centre is looking for new
recruits to join its friendly team of volunteer stewards.
As a steward you would meet and greet the visitors to the
centre and help run the shop. You don’t need to be an
‘expert’ in local history as you will pick up lots of
information from the displays in the centre. So if you
have an interest in Eastbourne’s heritage and enjoy
talking to people about it you are the sort of person we
are looking for!
The centre is open every day between 2-5pm between April
and October so we are looking for a minimum commitment of
3 hours a month from our stewards. A full induction is
given to all our volunteers and lots of ongoing support
is provided including social events.
The Eastbourne Heritage Centre is run by the Eastbourne
Society in partnership with Eastbourne Borough Council,
Eastbourne Local History Society, Eastbourne Natural
History & Archaeological Society & Beachy Head
Countryside Centre. As part of this partnership we are
pleased to offer a free talk by each society as well as a
free ticket to the Redoubt Fortress to all our volunteer
stewards by way of thanks for their time.
